It’s time to shake off the post-lockdown blues and make that wanderlust a reality.

From 1 December 2021, fully vaccinated travellers from Fiji-approved travel partner countries can say “Bula!” once more to the white sandy beaches, tropical weather, clear blue sea, and quarantine free travel.

But before you pack your bags, we’ve prepared a rundown of the important health and safety protocols, and what to expect for your first trip back to Fiji.

It’s important to note that currently only fully vaccinated travellers from the following countries can enter without prior approval and without the need to quarantine:

Australia, Canada, Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, France, French Polynesia, Germany, Japan, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Palau, Qatar, Republic of Korea, Samoa, Singapore, Solomon Islands, Spain, Switzerland, Tonga, Tuvalu, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, United States of America, Vanuatu.
Even if you’re travelling from a partner country it’s important to check any additional travel requirements before you book. COVID-19 means things can change fairly quickly so to avoid delays or cancellations, keep up to date with both Fiji’s restrictions and requirements in your home country.
All travellers need to book their accommodations at a Care Fiji Certified (CFC) resort for at least 3 nights. Transfers and tours should also be booked with approved CFC operators only. Certified businesses will have the CFC badge on the Fiji website so they can be easily identified.
All travellers need to secure medical travel insurance with international and COVID-19 coverage.

As well as your sun cream and sunhat, here are the other things you need to add to your checklist.
You’ll need to show proof that you’re fully vaccinated with any of the following approved vaccines: AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson. Your full vaccination dose must have taken place at least 14 days before travelling.
Only travellers below 18 years old are exempt but if accompanied by adults, they must be fully vaccinated. Unvaccinated minors can travel on their own following the usual international travel protocols.
Travellers over the age of 12 must provide proof of a negative RT-PCR test, and this will be verified by the airline along with vaccination status.
The test needs to be taken no later than 3 days before your departure. If you’ve contracted COVID-19 within 90 days of your travel to Fiji, you’ll need to provide either:
If you’ve had COVID-19 over 90 days ago, a negative RT-PCR test applies as normal.
Present your itinerary showing that you’ve booked your stay, transfer, and tours with CFC certified resorts and operators for a minimum of 3 days of pre-paid accommodation. You’ll also need to show your medical travel insurance and have stayed in a travel partner country for at least 10 days before coming to Fiji.

Finally, you’ve reached the shores of paradise! It’s easy to be overcome with excitement, especially if it’s your first time travelling since the pandemic. But before anything else, here are a few reminders to make sure you have a safe and enjoyable stay in Fiji.
48 hours after arrival, you’ll be required to take a rapid COVID-19 test at a CFC certified hotel/resort by trained health professionals and upon a negative result you’ll then be free to explore everything Fiji has to offer.
In the event the test is positive, you’ll be required to have further testing and a 10-day isolation.
As you explore Fiji, everyone is expected to follow the health and safety protocols such as:
While we would love for you to stay longer, you’ll have to head home and back to reality. Be sure to check the travel protocols of your home country so you know what you’ll need to provide to the airline. Should you require a COVID-19 test result before departure, you can have this done at your hotel with advance notice.
For more information on the current travel protocols in place in Fiji, please visit www.mcttt.gov.fj/traveltofiji/international-travel/
Check Travel Requirements
