Starting with the obvious – Let’s get in the water

With any island paradise, there is plenty of awesome aquatic options built in so why not dip your toes (pun very much intended) into some of the following:

Shark Diving

Fiji’s crystalline waters are home to a dizzying array of exotic and beautiful underwater inhabitants – start off checking out the amazing coral reefs, and work your way up to swimming with dolphins, turtles and even sharks!

With some of the most stunning reefs in the world snorkelling and diving with sharks is on many adrenaline junkie’s bucket list. Considered as some of the best shark dives in the world if you want to enjoy over 8 shark species on one site or explore colourful coral and abandoned wrecks, take a look at Beqa Adventure Divers.

Jet Boat

With thrills and speed, jet boating down the Sigatoka River is a fun and unique way to experience this stunning stretch of land. Include this as part of a safari or tour and you can visit Fijian villages to explore the culture in between high-speed pursuit!

Whitewater Rafting

If you want to kayak or enjoy some of the rapids that Fiji has to offer you have to head to Upper Navua Gorge which has class 2 – 3 rapids. Not only can you enjoy post-volcanic terrain, but the Upper Navua River has been described as a “river of Eden” thanks to its otherworldly beauty.

Other things to do on the water in Fiji:

  • Snorkelling
  • Paddleboarding
  • River tours and cruises
  • Jet skiing

Time to get your land-legs

Once you’ve experienced the incredible bounty of adventure activities the sea has to offer, turn your attention to the land.

Hiking

Fiji’s 333 islands boast many remote and beautiful scenic spots, and there are plenty of hiking options available if you want to see it all. How about hiking through the jungle to find secret waterfalls? Make your way up through the clouds to the peak of Fiji’s highest mountain Mt Tomanivi, or trek to Fiji’s Sigatoka Sand Dunes.

Off-Roading

Or if walking’s just too slow, why not jump on a quad bike and race across the islands at top speed instead? Check out Talanoa Treks to see the incredible guided tours they have on offer, or Terratrek if motorbikes and mud sound more your speed.

Ziplining

To enjoy the best Ziplining in Fiji, check out the Sleeping Giant Zip Line which is part of a 35-acre eco-friendly adventure park. Complete with multiple zipline experiences to choose from set in the backdrop of the tropical rainforest, you can fly up to speeds of 40km/h.

Look to the skies

You’ve experienced all that the sea and land have to offer, but that doesn’t mean your adventure is over – now it’s time to embrace the ultimate adrenaline booster, the sky.

Skydive Fiji

There’s no better vantage point for Fiji’s stunning islands and coral reefs than the sky itself, and you can take it all in as you gracefully float down from your skydive 14,000 feet above. Skydive Fiji is a great option for all the family with no age limits (their youngest customer was 7, and their oldest yet was 92!) and it’s an easy trip, located in central Denarau. Make sure you check them out for an exhilarating once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Helicopter

If you want a private intimate experience why not take to the skies for a helicopter tour of Fiji with Heli-tours Fiji. You can enjoy scenic flights, day trips, or even your resort transfers while taking in the breathtaking views of the oceans and islands galore!

Parasailing

Okay, this one is technically a combination of sea and sky, but parasailing is full of adrenaline that you can enjoy on your own or in tandem. Some of the best places to explore and parasail while speeding at 150ft are Treasure Island, Malolo Island Resort, Castaway Island Resort and Ratu Kini Dive Resort!

As you can see, Fiji is the perfect location no matter what type of vacation you like to enjoy. Be aware that many hotels will have their own signature experiences available for you to try out, which can help you make the most of the environment and natural beauty of the area.
