Owned by Captain Cook Cruises, Tivua is a stunning private island in Fiji that CEO Allison Haworth West accurately describes as “The World’s Biggest Swimming Pool”. Surrounded by stunningly clear water, colourful coral reef, and essential palm trees it’s an untainted paradise that has a few creature comforts for your visit.

Fiji has over 330 islands to explore, and each offer a unique experience, here’s what you need to know before planning your trip, and how you can make your trip more memorable in Tivua.

Planning Your Trip to Fiji’s Islands:

From the 7th of April 2022 Fiji is open to fully-vaccinated travellers around the world. You will have to bring:

● Proof of vaccination status

● Proof of a negative COVID-19 test taking within 24 hours of your departure

● Travel insurance

For an in-depth look at the requirements check out our updated rules and regulations post HERE.

Note: For some excursions to Tivua and on the cruises, you may have to do a rapid COVID-19 test performed by a nurse at the hotel after you arrive and before going on the boats.

Cruising to Tivua

Want to know what you’ll experience as part of your cruise to Tivua? The modest cruising ships allow you all the luxury of larger ships but with a lot more relaxation and fewer protocols. With delicious 3-course a la carte dining on-board as well as a dedicated crew to make sure you have a good time, travelling to the island is part of the memorable experience.

We recommend you head out on deck to watch the sunset for a breathtaking view that you’ll cherish.

What to do:

When you arrive, the island has some Buro’s available which are equipped with a bed, toilet, and shower so you can set up shop before your activities. Some of the experiences you can enjoy include:

Day Cruises

Whether you want to enjoy a ride on a glass bottom boat or paddle your own canoe to feel like your very own captain, taking in the sights of Tivua and the surrounding islands is unforgettable.

Wreck Dive

For experienced divers, the MV Raiyawa wreck gives the perfect combination of eerie haunted ship, with excellent exploration opportunities. It has plenty of cut-outs and hatches to delve into as well as an easy ascent and descent along the bowline. You won’t be alone as it’s a favourite with the local marine life but it’s not often a crowded wreck and many have had it to themselves which makes the experience even more unique.

Snorkelling & Paddle Boarding

Dubbed the world’s largest swimming pool for a reason, on Tivua you can enjoy water activities that’ll allow you to take in the breathtaking scenery above and below the water. For those who want to snorkel it’s the perfect spot to enjoy the vibrant coral reef and the marine life that inhabit it. You may even spot yourself a clownfish.

For those who prefer to stay above the water, paddle boarding is great fun to try and an excellent workout while you get your tan on!
