Having trained in Auckland and crafted her skills in hairdressing in New Zealand, Melbourne and Wellington, Leanne Golf laid down roots in Fiji, surrounding herself with a highly talented team of local stylists – Lodo, Pooja, Lydia and Litiana – specialising in weddings.

In this issue’s Supplier Spotlight, I Do Fiji Holidays talks with Leanne about Totoka Hair & Make Up to discuss her service, trends and more.

IDFH: How long have you been operating in Fiji?
Leanne: Totoka Hair & Make Up has been in operation almost two years. I have a Denarau-based salon plus mobile stylists who travel to weddings and events.

IDFH: Where will you travel to for a job?
Leanne: We travel all across Fiji and occasionally overseas for bridal parties.

IDFH: What size groups do you cater for?
Leanne: Anything from just the bride right through to large bridal parties. The biggest group we have had to date was 12 people!

IDFH: What are some of the latest styles and trends you are seeing?
Leanne: Most brides are opting for a soft romantic up-do, particularly in warmer weather months to beat the humidity. In cooler months we see more down hairstyles with soft curls.

IDFH: What’s product lines does Totoka Hair & Make Up use?
Leanne: We use a range of products in our kit, but make up products predominantly include Harlotte, MAC, Benefit and ASAP Mineral make up. Hair products are generally White Sands (super amazing to make hair hold) and RPR. All the products are brought in from New Zealand or Australia and are all top quality professional products.

IDFH: Do you offer services for bridal party guests?
Leanne: Yes, both at the location of the wedding and also in the salon. We have a lot of fun doing champagne pre-wedding preps in our salon with groups of wedding guests.

IDFH: Have you had any strange/memorable request? Do you ever have grooms arrange their hair and/or make up?
Leanne: We haven’t had many strange requests fortunately! We do accommodate men on occasion but predominately they want to be left alone and fairly no-fuss!
