Chapels

If you’re looking for a romantic location to wed, then there are no shortages of boutique chapels strewn across Fiji’s main island and the outer islands.

Venues tend to accommodate between 20 and up to 100 guests. Many of which offer stunning views from the alter overlooking the sea. Depending on the location, some provide the ability to offer a live-feed so guests who are unable to attend the ceremony in person can watch it from the comfort of their home.

Below are some of the most popular options from which to choose. And for more detail, view our ‘Go-into the Chapel’ feature posts.

SEASIDE CHAPEL – SHANGRI-LA’S FIJIAN RESORT & SPA

Shangri-La’s Seaside Chapel is a secluded venue away from the main resort and set amongst a plantation of palm trees right at the water’s edge. The chapel is bright and airy, with a peaked roof and glass-fronted windows that capture sweeping views of the reef and the Pacific Ocean. It has a raised platform, and vases on either side of the alter host a variety of tropical flowers.

Seaside Chapel is non-denominational and seats up to 40 guests.

The resort recommends an afternoon wedding to take advantage of the brilliant colours that emerge just prior to sunset.

BURE NI LOLOMA – OUTRIGGER FIJI BEACH RESORT

The Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort was designed to reflect the true Fijian way of life and its wedding chapel is no exception. Bure Ni Loloma (or the ‘Chapel of Love’), is perched atop Lomalagi Hill (Heavenly Hill), with panoramic vistas of the Coral Coast and overlooking the landscaped gardens of the resort.

The chapel features traditional Fijian architecture with lot of timber and hand-carved doors, and floor-to-ceiling glass windows that allow guests to take in the views. It has a capacity of 100 guests. Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort only hosts one wedding per day.

Bure Ni Loloma offers couples a traditional wedding with an authentic Fijian feel.

THE PARADISE CHAPEL – SHERATON FIJI RESORT

The Paradise Chapel on Denarau Island is one of the most picturesque of Fiji’s chapels. Located on Sandy Point on its now dedicated peninsula at the Sheraton Fiji Resort, the white-wash venue features traditional Fijian architecture and boasts breath-taking ocean views, sandy beaches and swaying palm trees. From the raised alter, guests can gaze at the horizon beyond.

The chapel accommodates up to 50 guests and can be booked exclusively when staying at any of the three Starwood resorts on Denarau Island – Sheraton Fiji Resort, Sheraton Denarau Villas and The Westin Denarau Island Resort & Spa.
