Madeleine & Kevin’s Wedding Day
IDFH: Why did you decide to wed in Fiji?
Madeleine: Value for money, to tell the truth. We did look at other beach wedding options, such as Hawaii and the Queensland Whitsundays, but they didn’t fit our budget. I’m glad we chose Fiji, and would do it again tomorrow because the people of Fiji made this experience so fantastic and memorable.
IDFH: What was Mana’s appeal?
Madeleine: Mana Island ticked all the boxes for me. Great private beaches, lots of venue options, value, location and the size of the resort was perfect for us.
Madeleine: The remote and white sandy beaches won my heart, the new outdoor facilities and the new restaurant… and of course all the great photos of weddings and recommendations of others.
IDFH: How did your wedding unfold?
Madeleine: We woke together as we didn’t want to spend the night prior apart. I got up to watch the sunrise & sat outside listening to the lapping water as I wrote my vows.
We had one of the groomsman walking all the way to the private honeymoon Bure to bring us coffee and calm us with some supportive words. We greeted further arriving guests (such as our photographer, hair and makeup & friends) in reception and started to get ready separate from each other.
The boys had beers and pizza for lunch as my bridesmaids and I ate fruit, sandwiches and champagne.
Time went so quick but I started to stress when my bouquet hadn’t arrived. Mana staff assured me the bouquet would be ready at the ceremony for me. And it was.
My dad came to pick me up and it was really emotional getting in the golf cart and driving to Sunset Beach to meet my hubby to be at our wedding ceremony.
Getting there I was shaking nervously and crying, but happy ? .
I walked down the aisle to my favourite song, which made me tear up even more.
The location was stunning and all our family and friends were there, and of course, the love of my life.
It was a hot and sunny day with blue skies and no wind, which was great for photos but we were all sweating like crazy!
Madeleine: If you don’t sweat the small stuff then yes. We had an amazing time.
IDFH: What dress design did you wear?
Madeleine: My gown was made by Viking Bridal from a Martina Liana design.
IDFH: Was there a funny story from your experience that stands out?
Madeleine: Yes, Kevin lost his wedding ring at our Trash the Dress shoot after being married for only 19 hours!!
IDFH: And what was your overall opinion of the day and the experience?
Madeleine: We could not have asked for a better day…. the weather was fantastic, the location and set ups great, the food at the reception was sensational and everyone who we love was there to share it with us !!!!
The timing sometimes was a little off but it all worked out fine in the end ?
