Go, into the Chapel – Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort

Bure Ni Loloma Chapel

When in Fiji recently, I Do Fiji Holidays was given the opportunity to discover first-hand the magic of the fabled Bure Ni Loloma Chapel at Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort on the Coral Coast.

Set atop a hillside overlooking the resort, green rolling hills and the Pacific Ocean, Outrigger’s chapel will have you spell-bound by the moment you arrive.

Weaving uphill on the back of a motorised buggy from Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort’s lobby to Bure Ni Loloma Chapel is memorable in itself, but what awaits couples at the top is certain to make the heart skip a beat with excitement.

Constructed almost completely of native time and glass, Bure Ni Loloma Chapel is a free-standing pavilion sitting at the summit of Vakalomalagi Hill (Heavenly Hill), adjacent to Bebe Spa and in the shadows of the Kalokalo & Bar.

Due to its location away from the rest of the resort, couples are assured privacy for their big day at the Bure Ni Loloma Chapel.

Awaiting couples after passing through the intricately carved butterfly double doors is an unobstructed panoramic 180 degree vista of the Coral Coast.

Here, traditional Fijian architecture with a modern twist is at its finest with the chapel able to accommodate 75 seated guests and has a capacity of 80. Roof-to-ceiling windows wrap around three sides and a verandah surrounds the entire building.

Should a wedding party exceed 80, some seats can be removed to provide standing room for additional guests.

A vaulted ceiling (with mounted fans) creates a feeling of space and the chapel’s temperature can be adjusted as required.

Bi-folding doors at the front of the chapel can also be opened for ventilation and/or to take advantage of natural breezes.

The aisle is 15 metres from the doorway to the front of the chapel, so brides should pace themselves to enjoy the moment (and the view!).

Floral arrangements are supplied by the resort based on what’s in season but can be tailored, along with seat-back sashes which come in a variety of colours/prints.
